LAKELAND
LAKELAND
Lakeland was originally published in Issue 4 of Laine Magazine. Inspired by icy winter temperatures and salty ocean gales, Lakeland blends together elements of Fiona’s original home country Canada and her current home, Finland. Fiona grew up on a street named Lakeland and felt it was a fitting name for this new design since Finland’s endearing nickname is ‘land of a thousand lakes’. The texture of the diagonal lines mimics waves washing over a beach.
Lakeland is addictive to knit: the bottom ribbing is worked flat, in three separate sections. These sections are then joined together, and the body is worked in the round until the armhole shaping begins. The sleeves are fairly loose and can be worn down or rolled back to create big cuffs.
This product listing is for the PDF pattern for the garment pictured and described here and not the actual finished item.
