LUMI
LUMI
Lumi is a loose fitting top with extra wide sleeves that features a number of different textures. The two main textures are, an all over cable pattern and 1x1 slipped stitch ribbing. Inspired by retro silhouettes, Fiona wanted to combine a balance of texture and simplicity for a modern yet vintage look.
Lumi is fairly standard for a drop-shoulder design. It is knit flat, in pieces and then seamed together. The sleeves are worked flat, seamed together to create a loop and then attached so the ribbing will be vertical from the rest of the body.
Lumi was originally published in Amirisu Issue 17, Fall/Winter 2018.

NOTES
This sweater is knit from the bottom up and begins in the round. Once the armholes are reached, the front and back are worked separately and flat. Shoulders are joined together by using the Three-Needle Bind- Off method. The neck is then picked up and finished off in the round. The sleeves are knit separately and flat before they are grafted together and then joined to the body.
Please note that the abbreviation, TW, is missing from the single pattern download. TW stands for “turn work”. Simply turn work around when you reach a TW and start next row.
Lumi is also available in Japanese.
